Kallstadt is a village located in the wine-growing region of southwestern Germany and is the birthplace of Friedrich Trump, who at the age of 16 emigrated to the United States in 1885. There he eventually became a businessman, owning a hotel and several restaurants, and after his death his wife Elizabeth and son Fred (Donald Trump's father) expanded the business into a real estate enterprise called Elizabeth Trump and Son. Donald Trump took control of the company in 1971 and grew it into Trump Organization LLC.
