Demonstrators rally against the potential redevelopment by US President Donald Trump of the East Potomac Golf Links and the public space around East Potomac Park, a popular destination for picnic go-ers, cyclists, walkers, runners and birdwatchers, as they hold a demonstration to protest at Hains Point in East Potomac Park sponsored by the Washington Area Bicycle Association in Washington, DC, October 4, 2026. Trump has announced plans to renovate what he has described as a "dilapidated, worn out" golf course called East Potomac Golf Links. Critics say the plans for golf course redevelopment could threaten public space around East Potomac Park, including bike paths and waterfront space open for leisure activites.
